Basit is a trained psychologist who has some experience working with uberhumans. Initially he worked with the hero Solar Centurion and his successor, but he came to prominence when he was called in to work with the Dawnstars in 2008.

Born in Rome, Basit is the son of Algerian immigrants. When not tending to uberhumans, he works pro bono with immigrant communities acting as an advocate and psychologist. Since moving to Venice, Basit has established himself amongst the immigrant communities in Venice and Mestre.

A trained psychologist, Basit has dedicated his life to his science and spends his entire waking life analysing those around him. He is not cynical, not predatory - he simply enjoys understanding people. He has not allowed himself to start his own family, though, and seems unable to relax enough to really connect with people beyond a professional level.

"Tell me, Forrestal, what compelled you to pull on those tights for the first time?"

Basit is a normal man who is bright and intuitive. He is a psychologist but is otherwise unexceptional.

A handsome man in his forties, Basit keeps his head shaved but has grown a small moustache. He wears spectacles, as he is short sighted, behind which his deep brown eyes appear very open and soothing. He wears comfortable suits, regardless of the weather, and has come to feel at home in Venice after living most of his life in Rome.
