| Background |
Marcus Livingston went straight from university into a job with a telecommunications company and felt suicidal by the end of his second year there. There was no excitement, no pursuit of excellence... just monotony. His friends from university disappeared over the years and he found himself alone and bitter, facing a computer screen with flashing lights on the incoming lines. Livingston would have tried to do something drastic, but before he had the opportunity to do so, his building in downtown Detroit was blown up by domestic terrorists hell-bent on sending a message to the federal government. Livingston was thrown headfirst into his computer terminal, shattering the glass and silicon chips, but his physical body seemed to shift away as he moved forward and all that was left of him was a fast fading cloud of shining pixels. Marcus Livingston was vaporised.Or so he thought. He quickly found himself flying down the telecommunications lines faster than he thought humanly possible, and that was when he realised that he was no longer merely human. He was uberhuman.Somehow, Livingston fell in with General Uprising and the Seven Soldiers. Up until that point, in 2002, Livingston had been using his abilities to swindle companies out of thousands of dollars in profits. He was striking at those companies and organisations who thought they were protected. He was doing his bit to show that the world was not working the way it was supposed to be.And General Uprising heard about him. Heard about him, and hired him.Livingston wasn't sure about the details, and he did receive some payment, but somehow things went from working for the General on a paid-by-the-hour basis, to working for him to help bring down the government. Livingston wasn't too worried. The government was as good a place as any to bring down the system that was obviously not working to protect the innocent civilians. |
| Personality |
Bluebeard is cocky and annoying, and if it wasn't for his incredible knowledge of the telecommunications industry and his ability to get through any security system, General Uprising would have sent him to the bottom of a convenient harbour a long time ago. Livingston believes he is a smooth operator, but he comes across smarmy and egotistical. He hasn't had any kind of romantic encounter since junior high, although he would never admit to that. |
| Quote |
"Hold on to your hats, ladies, things could get a little sparky in here." |
| Powers |
Bluebeard is able to shift his entire body from physical matter to energy. In this form, he is able to move along lines of telecommunications and computer systems, as well as generate enough excess electricity to cause harm to others: human and machine. |
| Appearance |
In his human form, Marcus Livingston appears to be a slippery character. His goatee and hair is oily, his smile seems sinister and his voice is nasally. When he transforms into his energy form, he seems to shed most of the slipperiness of his character and can appear rather suave in an electric blue kind of way. |
