| Background |
Cazador, the Hunter, took his name after declaring a vendetta against Reginold Stoughton-Bryce, the South African Big Game Hunter who was responsible for the death of Cazador's parents. Faustino Kehinde and his wife Abegail were members of the corrupt government of Francisco Marcias Nguema, Equatorial Guinea's first leader after the Spanish granted independence to its former colony. While Kehinde was just as corrupt as the man he worked for, his twelve year old son only knew his father as a loving and caring man. The Hunter killed several former members of the Marcias regime in 2001 after accepting an open-ended contract from an unrevealed Spanish businessman in Madrid. Ernesto, who would later become Cazador, was brought up by his aunt in Malabo who owned a bookshop. It was through the exposure to American superhero comics during this time that Ernesto decided on his vendetta, but in 2003 Malabo and the rest of Equatorial Guinea had been shaken by a coup led by the Witch Doctor. Ernesto's aunt was forced to only sell acceptable literature, which did not include comic books or anything imported from the United States.Undeterred by the regime change, Ernesto took on the identity of Cazador but found himself exiled by the new Equatorial Guinea government. Living in exile in Cameroon, he initially ignored what was happening in his home country and focussed on hunting down the Hunter.By 2006 Cazador had initiated several unsuccessful attacks on the Hunter and had at least gained the villain's attention. Cazador was, however, clearly outclassed and only barely escaped with his life after several encounters. Gradually his anger began to fade and he noticed the new climate in his home land. Malabo had become a hub for slavery and it was connected with the Witch Doctor who exerted considerable control over the small country. Cazador put his vendetta on hold and returned to Equatorial Guinea, wondering how he could help usurp the powers who ruled there. He found several British and Spanish intelligence officers were keen to smuggle him back over the border. It appeared that Europe, and many countries in Africa, were concerned with the new regime. After being smuggled back into the country, Cazador was put in contact with Justiciar, an organisation determined to bring down President Nicolas Kobina Ebo and the Witch Doctor. |
| Personality |
Cazador is barely eighteen and is generally an enthusiastic and outgoing young man. While he feels hatred towards The Hunter, his vendetta has transformed into more of a rivalry. He has heard many rumours about his parents and their corrupt dealings with the Marcias government, and these insights into his parents' lives has served to quell some of the rage which consumed him during his early adolescence. Since joining Justiciar, Cazador has become determined to take on the mantle of hero for his people. While he and the rest of Justiciar are outclassed, his dealings with The Hunter have proven to him that even though the adversaries may be more powerful, they can still be opposed by determined insurgents like Cazador and his new friends. |
| Quote |
"It's true that our government might not have been the best example of democracy in the world, but at least it was our government. What we've got now is nothing more than a bunch of puppets at the end of a string reaching all the way back to Azambia."
|
| Powers |
Cazador makes use of a variety of weapons, most of which are non-lethal, and all of which were given to him by Spanish intelligence prior to returning to Malabo. The weapons rely on electric charges which inflict stunning damage. His 'last resort' is an automatic pistol and, although he has yet to use it, Cazador is not afraid to kill if the reason is there.

| Appearance |
At barely eighteen, Cazador is clean-cut and appears wide-eyed and innocent, despite the past two years where he has spent most of his time running around Western Africa in pursuit of The Hunter. As part of Justiciar, he wears a battered combat vest and carries his weapons on his person, most of which are attached to a bandolier strapped across his chest. |
