Project Omega was one in a long line of super-solider programs that the US military had worked on since the end of World War II. The goal of the project was to give a soldier a boost during combat. Using data that was captured in a raid on a Kinder base the scientists of the project thought they had a major breakthrough. Tests on animals had favorable results. The next step was for human testing. The scientists were able to gather together six soldiers for their tests. Anthony Kellensworth was number six. Over a process of several months the men were subjected to a series of tests, injections, and intensive training. However, within the first week one soldier was dead due to a coronary, in a month another soldier was in a coma. Fearing the effects on morale the scientists kept each soldier segregated from one another. At the end of the testing period there were only two soldiers left and Anthony was one of them. After review the scientists theorized that the drugs they designed from the Kinder formula were genetically keyed towards the ubergene. Why Anthony and the other soldier survived the drugs was a mystery. While the drugs aided the soldiers' strength, stamina, and speed there were other side effects. One was a strong addiction to the drugs which brought on fits of extreme anger if the drugs were taken away. Secondly was an aggressiveness that seemed a little on the inhuman side. The next phase of the project was training with the combat helmet. These helmets were designed by Unger Munitions and would receive command signals from the officers in command. Anthony was fitted with one of these helmets. A design flaw in the helmets meant that it took almost ten minutes to take one off. Training again commenced. Using mock-ups, Anthony and the other soldier were put through their paces. However things didn’t go as planned. Anthony went completely berserk when one of the tubes that was feeding him his drugs ruptured. This happened during a combat simulation and before he could be stopped he killed the other soldier and proceeded to go on a rampage through out the complex killing anyone who stood in his way. Several soldiers tried to stop him by shooting him, but his wounds closed up shortly after he was shot. The soldiers fell like dominoes. Anthony would’ve escaped from the complex if the last scientist hadn’t thrown the failsafe switch. Steel plates instantly fell down blocking off all exits. Anthony was trapped within. No one outside of Project Omega would know of their failure, or at least so they thought. A week later one of the steel panels slid back up. An old man with a cigarette burning in one hand stepped in. His one good eye surveyed the damage. It didn’t look good. Project Omega was a mess. It took the old man a while to find Anthony. He was in the mess hall opening a can of beans with his ka-bar knife. Smiling, General Uprising asked, “You got a spare spoon soldier? That can of beans looks good.” |
Anthony was always an aggressive man. One didn’t succeed in Force Recon without being aggressive; the drugs that he’s now addicted to make him even more aggressive. Ka-Bar doesn’t hold back in a fight. While not a berserker, he fights with abandon. His addiction to the drugs is complete. Without them Ka-Bar gets antsy, which usually leads to a horrible rage. At this time he’s almost animal-like. General Uprising always makes sure that Ka-Bar has a constant supply of the drugs. |
Ka-Bar doesn’t speak much. He just menaces. |
Ka-Bar is a normal person who’s in peak physical condition. On his back is his drug delivery system, which feeds his body with special drugs that enhance his strength, stamina, and speed to super-human levels. Another positive side effect of the drugs is that his body heals from wounds faster than a normal person could. There are numerous neative side effects of the drugs, most notably dependence and a tendency to go berserk. Ka-Bar is armed with a combat knife that can punch through armor. For protection he wears a suit of combat body armor. On his head is a high tech helmet. The helmet protects the wearer from flash attacks, has a powerful built-in radio, and allows the wearer to see into the infrared spectrum. Ka-Bar is a highly skilled soldier, and once was a member of the Marine Corps elite special forces Force Recon. His skills include a mastery of hand-to-hand combat and coupled with his combat knife, Ka-Bar can inflict serious wounds. With the drugs running in his system he feels no pain. |
Ka-Bar is a large muscular man with tubes running from his drug delivery system all over his arms and legs. The tubes are red, blue, and green. While Ka-Bar is a tall man, he seems to be constantly stooping, almost always in a combat crouch. For a costume, Ka-Bar wears combat armor, which is in a camouflage color. On his feet are combat boots. Firmly attached to his head is his combat helmet, which even he can’t remove without assistance. Occasional strands of hair peek out from underneath his helmet. Ka-Bar exudes an aura of menace, and animals and small children shy away from him naturally. |
