Background

Ever since his childhood, Harry Kruger wanted to be an astronaut. He collected all sorts of NASA memorabilia and watched every single lift-off of every manned flight into space. He studied hard in pursuit of this goal.

After he received his bachelor's degree in engineering, he worked at Cape Canaveral helping to develop payload systems, but was crestfallen to learn that astronauts were required to have perfect vision. He went to graduate school at MIT, where he roomed with a genius by the name of Mike Bowman. In the same time that it took Harry to earn his master's degree, his roommate earned a doctorate.

Yet it was during this time that laser eye surgery became available and NASA relaxed the rules for non-flight personnel on space planes. In five years, Harry made his first flight into space. In another two years, he was put in charge of payloads. While his passion was space flight, his talent was management and he excelled at that. Currently, he is restricted to ground duties because of his value as senior payload manager. He can probably get himself assigned to another mission, but he is waiting for now because that one would likely be his last time and he doesn't want to squander it.

Personality

Generally quiet, Harry Kruger is not shy, but likes to talk only when it achieves something. He can participate in small talk with another person, but usually refrains while in a group. People close to him have found that when he speaks, it is usually something that they should hear.

Whenever he finds someone with a problem, Harry will take it upon himself to help that person. He'll think of the right person to solve the problem and try to contact and enlist that person. If he can't do so or if he determines that he himself is the right person, he'll work to solve the problem until it is solved or until the person who he is helping asks him to stop.

Between helping people and his duties as a NASA manager, Harry often finds that he has little time for anything else. But if he does, you might find him enjoying a conversation with Mike, Pix'l, or Tamara, strolling around various places in Central Florida, taking in a baseball game, or taking pictures of astronomical objects.

Appearance

Harry is a middle-aged man with salt-and-pepper hair and usually a little bit of a tan. When he is working at NASA, he will generally be found wearing cotton dockers and a cotton long-sleeve shirt. On cool days, he dons a flight jacket with the insignia of the space plane mission that he remembers fondly.
