Background

Jian Xue managed to avoid being drafted into the various incarnations of China's state-sponsored uberhuman teams, although how she managed to do this remains a mystery - something the Gang of Five have found disturbing. She first appeared on the world stage as a member of S.U.M.M.I.T. in 1995 when the group launched an attack on Hong Kong. While she never discusses her past without using extraordinarily obscure references, Jian Xue must have learned Kung Fu from a master, probably in China's north. The Kung Fu Master Go has said that he knows of Cho Oyu's teacher, but has not elaborated, only saying that the Master is not always proud of their students, but that pride is not a necessary component of such a relationship.

Cho Oyu showed herself to be an intimidating member of S.U.M.M.I.T. and has been very active in its operations since joining. She is the current leader of the team and shows no sign of stepping down. She has recently made moves to foster a relationship between S.U.M.M.I.T. and .T.I.T.A.N., although the long-term rivals are not likely to become close friends any time soon. Her reasons for this alliance are not entirely clear, although the expansion of the Sons of Set in Northern Africa has been cited as one possible reason.

Interestingly, Jian Xue has referred to the Brazilian supervillain, Omen, as her son on several occasions. While this has caused some angst for Omen it has not been confirmed.
Personality
Cho Oyu remains a mystery, even to those she has worked with over the past ten years. She is confident and always measured in everything she does. When she fights, she fights to win and does not waste time with conventional superhero verbal exchanges. She is quietly spoken, but commands the respect of those in her presence. Some have likened her to winter: cold, severe but unavoidable.

Cho Oyu is a formidable student of Kung Fu, combining her large size with disciplined martial arts training. She possesses uberhuman strength, reflexes and speed, as well as a keen mind and a commanding presence. She is a telepath with the ability to manipulate the minds of her opponents, as well as possessing uberhuman regenerative powers.
Appearance

Cho Oyu stands at just under eight feet tall and has a solid, muscular build. She is albino with chalk-white skin although her eyes are an emerald green, rather than pink. She wears her hair in a pony tail and usually covers her body in a hard white ceramic/kevlar body armour which only leaves her face exposed. When out of uniform she wears traditional Chinese robes, but no matter what she wears Cho Oyu always commands the attention of those in her presence. There is something magnetic and frigtening about her visage that people never forget.
