Deep in the Himalayan mountains was a secret laboratory. The Annapurna Research Centre collected funding from India, China and Russia, although it was located in Nepal. The Centre was destroyed in 1999 after an avalanche breached the centre's defences, although there were also reports of wild fires erupting throughout the underground complex. The destruction was never reported, and the interested parties simply faded away. There was one survivor of the Centre, although he was the only one who was aware of the fact. He was called Jeetendra, an Indian name, although his origins were not of this planet. Jeetendra was discovered on board a space ship which crashed into the Himalayas in 1970. India was the first on the scene and discovered two adult aliens killed at the controls of the small ship, and a single infant protected by a force field basinet. The Chinese and Russians arrived on the scene and together they decided to share the discovery. The space ship was sent back to Russia and China took possession of the two alien corpses. The young child, Jeetendra, was to be raised in isolation under the supervision of India. When Jeetendra walked out of the collapsed Research Centre he was twenty nine Earth years. He travelled around the various Nepalese communities before making his way to a Buddhist monastery where he found sanctuary for a year and a day. After that time he became determined to return to India, which he knew was responsible for his upbringing, and seek answers to his origin. The Indian government was surprised to see him alive, but quickly welcomed him and convinced him to find solace in the team of ubers known as The Assembly. Jeetendra has, indeed, found some comfort in the company of his team mates, although he is still lonely. Being a telepath had enabled him to pick up stray thoughts about his origin and he is now aware that his parents are in China.Jeetendra is a patient being, however, and is waiting for more information before making his move. |
