| Background |
Ages before the coming of the Taklit vast portions of the world were ruled by beings who came from beyond Earths dimension. These demonic creatures called themselves the Deathless Ones. They lorded over the humans, whom they treated as cattle, and as specimens to practice their dark sorcery on. The Deathless Ones ruled the world with an iron fist. All rebellions that came against them failed miserably. It was with the arrival of the Taklit that things started to change for humanity. During the rulership of the Deathless Ones they performed numerous experiments on mankind. One of their greatest successes was in the Neoliths, whom over generations became an immortal offshoot of humanity. The Deathless Ones thought that the Neoliths were just like the rest of humanity, not counting for their increasing power. It was a meeting of the Neoliths, and the Taklits who were later to become known as Atlantians, that a truth threat to the rulership of the Deathless Ones emerged. Using the advanced technology of the Atlantians and the innate magic of the Neoliths the two races were able to confront the Deathless Ones. Countless Atlantians and Neoliths died in the great rebellion, but they did succeed. The leader of the Deathless Ones, who was known as He Who Shall Not Be Named, was sealed away in another dimension along with all of the Deathless One. The Deathless Ones have been trapped in a dimension of darkness ever since. However, the two races victory didn’t come without a price. The Taklit were practically obliterated, and fell to a primitive state forgetting about their alliance with the Neolith, but more importantly their technology became lost to them. For the Neoliths they too were scarred. Of the original Neoliths who rose up against Deathless Ones, only six remained. They were: Ossa, who became the Neo-Father, Carah who became the Neo-Mother, Karus the Artificer, Wolz the Watcher, Arboria the Gardener, and Gleen the Entertainer. The Neoliths retreated to their Celestial City and have withdrawn from the world. Only occasionally will one of the Neoliths return to the world. As for the Deathless Ones they’re still locked away in the Dimension of Darkness. Their only link to this world is the Great Eye. Sorcerers through out the ages have used the Great Eye to contact the Deathless Ones, who have granted great powers to the wielder of the Great Eye, but all eventually succumb to madness and are destroyed. On rare occasions the Deathless Ones have been able to free themselves from their prison, but they always have been eventually defeated and returned to the Dimension of Darkness. |
| Personality |
The Deathless Ones are totally inhuman monsters. They seek to reclaim their lost power over humanity. People are little more than bothersome insects to be crushed under their feet or as slaves of the mighty Deathless Ones. Those who dare stand in their way are quickly dealt with, usually in a grisly fashion. If the Deathless Ones were to actually conquer the world, humanities fate would be a bitter one and vile one indeed. The only thing that the Deathless Ones hold even more important than the conquest is their loyalty to He Who Shall Not Be Named. To the Deathless Ones his word is their meaning of existence. |
| Quote |
"Now they shall know why they fear death. Now they shall learn why they fear the Deathless Ones." |
| Powers |
The Deathless Ones are extradimensional demons who are practically indestructible. They heal from almost any wound, hence their name Deathless. In their natural state Deathless Ones are armed with scaly skin which protects them from almost any damage, and talons that can easily rip steel as if it were tissue paper. Growing from under their arms are bat-like wings which allow the Deathless Ones to fly. Deathless Ones are also able to take on the appearance of others, and walk amoung us completely unknown. In addition to their super-human physical abilities, the Deathless Ones possess innate magic. While not as strong as they once were, the Deathless Ones are still quite versitile in their magic uses. |
| Appearance |
In their natural state, the Deathless Ones look like demonic beings. They stand taller than most humans and are covered with a mottled scaly hide. Protruding from their heads are a pair of horns, and from their finger wicked talons. The Deathless Ones are completely hairless, and their eyes are pools of evil of the deepest red. Growing under their arms are bat-like wings. The Deathless are able to take on the appearance of others, so are rarely found in their natural state, unless they're about to eliminate someone or to show off to a follower. |
