Kaneshige Akitetsu is a detective at the Chiyoda police station in Tokyo specializing in crimes having to do with superhuman activity. He has served in this capacity for five years having been before a detective on the vice squad. Aki has worked with the earlier Senshudan One team several times, has assisted S.A.G.E. twice, and has teamed up with other superheroes that are in the Tokyo area including Koorogi. He also has contacts with other precinct detectives who specialize in crimes having to do with superhuman activity including Kichiro Ito (Koorogi). He was the first to be informed by the Robot Ichiro of the attack which killed the earlier Senshudan One.

A hard driven detective, 'Aki', as he is known to his acquaintances, is fully immersed in his detective work. He has no real life outside of it - no social life to speak of. When on tough cases, he often lights up a cigarette or might just keep an unlit one in his mouth. He is trying to give up smoking, and so he might suck a lollipop instead. When interviewing witnesses or suspects, he often puts on a 'slightly slow' act to fool his interviewee. In this manner, he sometimes seems like Columbo with a hint of Kojak.

Aki is a top-notch detective. Competent at footwork, he excels more at interviewing people and analyzing data. If in a combat area with superhumans he will typically help to ensure the safety of innocents, but, knowing his poor shooting skills, will refrain from combat as much as possible.

Clean shaven and well-groomed with short hair, Aki rarely will wear anything fancy nor anything shabby. He favors a long beige coat. Trying to stop his smoking habit, Aki will often be seen with either a cigarette or a lollpop.
