Enrico Diego was orphaned at a young age. He never really knew who his parents were. He spent most of his time at a Catholic orphanage in Lima. The nuns of the orphanage tried to control his wild ways the best they could, but Enrico was uncontrollable. When he was old enough Enrico ran away and lived on the streets. To feed himself, Enrico turn to picking pockets. What money he got was quickly gone through, because for Enrico it was one celebration after the next. Enrico wasn’t a bad person and was quite the charmer. Several old matrons in Lima gave him food when he came by. When Enrico hit puberty he got really sick. He never could seem to get enough air in his lungs and he was always in pain. Thinking he was dying, Enrico hid in an abandoned tenement building. To be on the safe side, Enrico dragged himself to the top floor. The air up there seemed to be easier to breath than the polluted air near the streets. Enrico didn’t know that his Uber powers were emerging. The higher he climbed in the building the better he felt. Power seemed to surge through his small frame and the pain receded. It was on the roof of the building that Enrico felt totally alive. The wind whipped around him and it felt almost like it was caressing him. Enrico could help it but laugh. He went on laughing when the air picked him up and he flew. Up and down, faster and faster he flew. In moments he was back at the orphanage, which the sight of it really upset him. With a wave of his hand a twister came down on the orphanage tearing the roof off of it. This was so much fun that Enrico didn’t want to stop. Children and priests fled the building that was flying apart. With wave after wave of his hands more destruction rained down on the building and Enrico laughed and laughed. After the building was destroyed, Enrico turned to see what he could destroy next. That was when he saw the strange man in blue. The man was riding on a pillar of water and was heading towards him. Enrico thought the man looked funny and decided to play with him. This turned out to be a big mistake. Enrico was still learning how to control his powers over the air. Seiche had learned to control his a long time ago, and with a gesture he seized control of all the water in Enrico’s body freezing him in mid-air. Enrico found himself helpless in front of the Swiss. Seiche looked the boy up and down with a practices eye. “So,” asked Seiche, “you enjoy a little bit of destruction boy?” Enrico couldn’t answer, but tied to smile a little. “Yes,” said Seiche, “I enjoy it a little myself. For how can the masses change without a little destruction? Only by bringing society to ruin can it grow. This I will teach you. It will be fun, I promise El Nino.” |
