| Background | |||||||||
|
Itzool P'Toth, third envoy of the Phazite Quorum to the Union of Civilized Worlds, considered the situation as his vessel descended towards his homeworld. In truth, had always been somewhat more durable and possessed greater physical strength than most of his people... he had been engineered thusly to ensure his survival in the event that one of the envoys survived should diplomacy prove unsuccessful. He frequently had found himself in situations where actual physical conflict had erupted, and had recently saved the lives of the inhabitants of Satellite T-147 of the Luxon Homeworld... including the Luxon Hierarch. Doubtless his aptitude in such unpleasant situations was a primary reason he had been selected, along with his comfort with members of the other U.C.W. species. Most of his people preferred a more isolationist stance, and would resist aggression even in the face of their own destruction. Pacifism was deeply ingrained into the Phazite collective, a central tenet of their culture so powerful that it made aggression virtually unthinkable. His capabilities in that area had long been a source of discomfort, not spoken of in polite company... he suspected that he was an atavistic throwback to an earlier era. Or perhaps his matrix had been flawed when he was first forged in the molten birthing chambers of his race... |
|||||||||
| Personality | |||||||||
| Facet takes his responsibilities as the representative of his species in Stellar Shield very seriously. He (rightly) considers this position a great honor, and a way in which his race has chosen to respect his talents in a manner that permits his "predeliction towards violence" to become an asset rather than a deficit (though in truth, only the Phazites would consider the peaceful Itzool to have a violent nature). He, like all his kind, is deeply honorable, protective of all life, and somewhat befuddled by the "hasty" fellow races of the U.C.W. He has adopted a "male" persona, given what he sees as a predisposition of his fellow team members with gender (the choice was based on the baritone/bass range of his vocal tones, Itzool felt an assigned gender would enable others to more readily accept him as being similar to themselves - the Phazites do not reproduce through sexual means however, so gender is largely a meaningless concept as it does not apply to any of his race). | |||||||||
| Quote | |||||||||
| "(sigh) You ephemerals are always so hasty, so quick to violence... and so fragile" | |||||||||
| Powers | |||||||||
|
Itzool's powers derive from his uniquely enhanced crystalline lattice physical structure, which grants him phenomenal strength, near invulnerability, and generally makes him a physical powerhouse. He also had an unexpected side-effect of the process which gave him the ability to manipulate his body's pizo-electric matrix, permitting him to grow and shape crystal from his form in a variety of useful ways... creating blade-like extrusions, hurled hails of crystal-like razors, walls and barriers, or altering the visible spectrum of light emitted so as to become invisible. Despite his formidable abilities, as a combatant Itzool remains somewhat unschooled, though repeated exposure to violent situations has begun to grant him a certain aptitude. His preference remains to solve situations diplomatically, whenever possible. |

| Appearance | |||||||||
|
Facet is a clear, faceted, crystalline humanoid figure with dimly glowing yellow eyes. His body's coloration is determined by the ambient light, glowing faintly in the hue to which his surface is exposed. Itzool's race is not particularly large, or powerful looking, but possess relatively great physical strength and durability due to their composition. He is, as all his people, composed of sentient crystal formations which generate low-level pizo-electric discharges to provide sentient thought. Facet wears a dark blue and black bodysuit with silver clasps. |
