Otto von Braum always wanted to fly, ever since he saw the Red Baron and his flying circus. As a child Otto often made paper kites and flew them whenever he could. However, Otto came from a poor family, and it was unlikely that his dreams would ever reach fruition.

When Otto was eighteen, he joined the Hitler Youth, and quickly rose in their ranks due to his large sized, and his willingness to break heads. One of his highest achievements was a personal meeting with Heinrick Himmler. Their meeting went so well that Himmler requested that Otto join his staff as a personal bodyguard.

Things were really looking up for Otto. However, one night in January changed everything for Otto. That night Himmler was meeting with a group of occultists and Otto was to be his only bodyguard. Little did he know that he was to be the subject of that nights attempt at summoning.

The occultists were trying to summon Huginn and Munnin the ravens of the Norse deity Odin. Their leader, an unusually cruel sorcerer felt that a blood sacrifice was the required ingredient for such a spell. So he had turned to his patron Heinrick Himmler. It was Himmler who suggested Otto for the sacrifice.

Otto thought that the gathering was one of Himmler’s usual hangers on and sycophants. When he was handed a cup of wine he thought nothing of it, and while wine wasn’t a proper German drink like beer was, Otto drank nonetheless. After draining the dregs of the wine, things got really strange. The room seemed to swim before Otto’s gaze, and everything seemed to be moving really really slow.

Otto was so drugged that he didn’t even see the occult leader come up from behind him, and slit his throat. Hot blood gushed from the wound, but Otto didn’t care. The occultists quickly gathered the blood in a golden cup with ravens worked into the metal. Otto fell to his knees as watched, not making any efforts to stop the flow of blood that was pouring down his uniform.

In a drugged haze, watched as the occultist put the cup in the center of the room, and then using a raven feather dipped into the blood started to write strange runes around it. Also while he did this the other occultists joined in a chant. As for Himmler he had left. After the circle was completed, the occultists chanted even louder. Then something was starting to happen inside the circle.

At first it sounded like the cawing of ravens, and then there appeared to dots of utter darkness that quickly grew to the size of a raven, and then kept growing. The dots became the ravens of Odin, and they let the occultists know of their anger screaming loader and louder as they grew. However, they were confined in the magical circle. The leader of the occultists smiled maliciously, and it was at this time that Otto fell over. A look of horror crossed the occultist leader face as a single finger of Ottos right hand broke the circle.

With a roaring caw the two ravens broke free. The occultists tried to flee, but to no avail.

Breaking free the two supernatural ravens gouged flesh from the occultists no matter where they ran, and soon the room where the summoning took place was a blood bath, not that Otto cared, he was too busy dying to care. However, it seemed fate smiled on Otto because he actually lived.

The next day, a horrified Himmler discovered Otto in the charnel house. But even Otto wasn’t the same. The magic that went wild in the house, even affected him. A pair of full functional ravens wings had sprouted from Ottos back, and even the hair of his head was replaced with fine raven-like feathers. Otto was a changed man. Never to leave an advantage to go to waste Himmler concocted a story, which a gullible Otto swallowed. It was Himmler who gave Otto his new mission in life as Deutscher Adler or German Eagle. So maybe in a way Ottos dream did come true.

Otto has always been a bully. He enjoys picking on people, and now that he has more power he has more people that he can pick on. Of course if he were to be bullied in return he’d not much like it. As such, Otto is a member of the SS, but even they don’t completely trust him.

Otto is very much of a follower, which is why he made the perfect bodyguard for Himmler. He is never one to question the orders given to him by his superiors. Like most Germans during the Nazi regime they were just following orders. When not around those to give him orders, Otto usually falls back on his bullying traits.

“No one is more lightning quick than German Eagle.”

German Eagle is a man with a pair of fully articulated wings growing from his back. The wings are fully functional allowing him to fly like the eagles. German Eagle can even use his wings as weapons, bludgeoning his foes.

German Eagle packs a variety of grenades, from flash grenades to blind his foes to more deadly fragmentation grenades. He also packs a Luger for when his grenades run out. German Eagle wears a specially designed costume that protects him from most attacks.

German Eagle is also stronger and faster than a normal person.

German Eagle is a man of average height and weight. For a costume he wears a black leather bomber jacket, along with a leather cap and goggles. Wrapped around his neck is a long white scarf, like the pilots used to wear during the first world war. On his right arm is an armband with the SS symbol on it. At his hip is his holster for his pistol. German Eagle keeps his grenades in his jacket. Finishing up his costume are a pair of shiny black boots. Sprouting from his back are a pair of fully functional wings.
