Colonel Mustapha bin Gamal al-Thani watched the group of smugglers warily through the sights of his binoculars. If the reports were accurate these smugglers had in their possession stolen plans for a British designed battle suit. Mustapha, being a member of the royal family of Qatar, was given the assignment of recovering the stolen plans. As he watched, Mustapha mused on what the plans might detail. The British had offered a sizable reward for these ‘Lancelot’ drawings. The arrogance of the British never seemed to cease to amaze Mustapha. How they could lose such a powerful weapon was beyond Mustapha. The sun was going down and it was time for the attack. Using birdcalls, the soldiers attacked. Like lions in the night the soldiers ravaged the smugglers' encampment. It wasn’t long before all of the smugglers were so many corpses in the desert. Colonel Mustapha searched through the smugglers' possessions and quickly came upon the stolen plans. Curious as to their contents he perused them, instantly memorizing them. These ‘Lancelot’ designs were intriguing. With some modifications, thought Mustapha, he too could build a battle suit that would match and even possibly be superior to the ‘Lancelot’ design. Dutifully Mustapha turned the plans over to a grateful British officer, a woman no less, named Colonel Hoff. Like most British, she too underestimated Mustapha thinking him a simple Arab soldier; not knowing that he had been educated in America, before returning to Qatar and joining the army. Left to his own devices Mustapha went about constructing a suit of powered armor based upon the memorized ‘Lancelot’ design. It took him over five years to actually build the battle suit, which he kept secret from even his closest cousin. Several billion Qatari rials later the Iron Amir battle suit was complete. Mustapha was always an altruistic man and decided to use the battle suit in the defense of the Arab world. His fight has not only been with outside enemies, but also against extremists in the Arab world as well. To aide him in his struggle, Iron Amir, as the code name Mustapha goes by, has gathered together a group of like-minded Ubers. Together they’re known as the Five Pillars. |
