| Background |
After Nephthys created the Divines (Maahes, Sebek, etc...) to lead her armies for the awakening of Set, the goddess felt that the Divines would be insufficient to handle the day to day command. After pondering awhile, the goddess decided to empower a select few mortals to become the Priests of Set. Nephthys traveled across Africa and the Middle East looking for a certain type of man or woman. People showing a strong inkling for magic, but a weak will were the type the goddess choose. The Priests of Set would act as the captain for the soldiers of Set. They wouldn’t be as powerful as the Divines, who would act as the goddesses generals, but they would certainly give trouble to any mortal who dared to defy them and through them, the goddess herself. |
| Personality |
The Priests of Set are a through and through corrupt group. The main reason they became Priest of Set was for the power it would give over their common man. They have been promised places in the new world that Set will create, and the Priests of Set will go to any lengths to achieve this end. The Priests of Set always know who controls the Sons of Set, and always give way to the Divines, and especially Nephthys. At times their behavior towards the Divines can be very submissive. |
| Quote |
"Give into the Might of Set. None shall Resist!" |
| Powers |
The Priest of Set is a Sons of Set sorcerer-priest, easily as strong as most Uberhumans. With their mystical powers and Soldiers of Set to back them up, Priests of Set become a major threat to the world. Their Setian magic powers (some the result of training, some counted as rewards from Set), run the gamut of manipulation of the mind, to the every bit as powerful Fiery Wrath of Set, to the ability to summon and command jackals. Each Priest of Set wields the Flail of Set, a virulent weapon which enfeebles its target with each blow. The Priests of Set also wear crown-like headsets that protects them from mental powers, drains, and power transfers. |
| Appearance |
The Priest of Set come in all types, from male to female. All are prime examples of the human physique (those deemed too weak are slain), and are also quite intelligent (again those deemed too unintelligent are killed as well). When dressed in their robes, the Priests of Set look like ancient Egyptians come alive. They wear white diaphanous robes, along with elaborate headdresses. In the crock of their arm they typically carry the Flail of Set.In their civilian guise, the Priests of Set could be almost anyone. |
