Senshudan One Background

Hi. By way of introduction, I am Detective Kaneshige Akitetsu, Specialist in Charge of Superhuman Affairs for the Chiyoda District Police Station of the Tokyo Police. My friends all call me Aki. I count among my friends, the superhero team known as Senshudan One. I've seen this new team grow out of the ashes of the old. Let me tell you about it.

For decades Senshudan One has protected the people of Japan from danger. The team of five valiant defenders has apprehended criminals, common and super, has bolstered buildings crumbling from earthquakes, has stopped giant alien monsters, and solved mysteries that perplexed the police.

In their success, they were lauded and obtained the support of many sponsors. Recently, they completed the construction of a brand new base in the middle of Tokyo, a proper home for such heroes. Then, one of the new robots, Jiro - who was developed to help the team train in preparation for taking on stronger opponents, went out of control and killed all of them. Captain Lion Red, Princess Snowflake Pink, Hunter Ronin Blue, Pilot Star Yellow, and Sensei Progress Green were all slain in the new Senshudan One Headquarters as they ate breakfast.

But, the other robot, Ichiro, was activated by Captain Lion Red even as he was hemorrhaging from multiple gunshot wounds. This robot was activated, a Self-Awareness chip was inserted into his CPU, and he was given a directive in the dying breath of the team's leader: rebuild the team, carry out justice.

Ichiro found a new leader for Senshudan One in Koorogi, the cricket hero of Tokyo. After realizing the hidden scheme of the New Empire to rid the country of their heroes and fighting with cyberninja bent on shutting off the robot, Koorogi declared that he would build a new Senshudan One, the true heroes that Japan needed.

An ancient evil awoke during a tremblor in Northern Japan. A plague of twisted chaos beings has swept through the country. And the New Empire has begun to fight this threat, proclaiming themselves as the guardians of Japan since Senshudan One was dead.

Koorogi and Ichiro have met up with a sometimes hero, Stuntman, who is working to unravel a mystery that threatens his only remaining family, his brother Deng. Monsters of legend now are working with the plague of chaos beings. Ichiro has identified a hero that can provide critical knowledge for their fight. But can they get to Kitsune before the legions of Chaos slay her?

Areas of Operation: While primarily based in Tokyo, Japan, the Senshudan One team travels throughout Japan (and if necessary, the world) to investigate and stop threats.

Goals: The goal of the Senshudan One team is to investigate and stop threats to the general population of Tokyo and Japan.

Reputation: The Japanese national and local governments are generally on amicable terms with the team. They see the superheroes as a source of pride for the country. At the same time, they expect superheroes to generally fit into their societal norms. As with most superheroes, all things Senshudan One are the latest fad in Japan.
