Assim bin Mohammed had just finished his religious training when India invaded Pakistan. A few of the imams in Tajikistan declared a holy war against India. Assim was one of the first from Tajikistan to volunteer his services.

Crossing the Kush Mountains into Afghanistan and then into Pakistan, Assim and his comrades were caught in a sand storm. Assim was separated from his comrades and was soon completely lost. He wandered through the wilderness for a long time not knowing where he was. His food and water were soon gone. It was only his faith that kept him going.

During is struggle to stay alive, Assim had a vision. In his vision an angel came to him telling Assim that he couldn’t die yet. Instead he would be granted a new mission in life, and with the new mission would come great power. Assim would become an avenging wind that would blow the infidel away.

Just when Assim was about to reach for the angel, the vision shattered and Assim ran into an Indian Patrol led by Fusion. Assim went totally berserk. Winds came up quickly and threw the soldiers all over the place. However, Fusion wasn’t phased by the winds. Over the next couple of hours the two Uber-men battled across the countryside creating destruction wherever they went.

Eventually Fusion proved the stronger of the two and Assim was slammed into the ground. However before Fusion was able to finish him off, Assim called up a tremendous sandstorm blinding Fusion while Assim fled.

Since his defeat at the hands of Fusion, Assim, who know calls himself Sirocco the Wind of Vengeance, sought out like minded Muslim Uber-humans and joined with Fatwa. Sirocco burns with the desire to confound the Assembly and those who don’t follow the teachings of the Prophet.

Assim is no longer the person he used to be. His struggle to survive in the desert has changed him greatly. He has become convinced that his religion is the only correct religion, and he has no problem sharing his point of view with anyone, especially someone who isn’t a Muslim. Nothing anyone says or does can change his mind.

Due to his training at the religious school, Assim has learned that women are inferior to men, and that women should follow the instructions of men without question. He always treat women with contempt and usually targets female Uber-humans first.

Through unknown means, Sirocco is now able to call up powerful bursts of wind. Sirocco can project a burst of wind that can not only cause physical damage but also drains vitality from the target. Sirocco can also call up a sandstorm that blocks all vision, which only Sirocco can see through. Using the winds around him, Sirocco can protect himself from attacks, and his control of winds allows Sirocco to literally throw attacks back at his enemies. Naturally, Sirocco can use the winds to pick himself and fly. Conversely, Sirocco is only able to use his powers in an environment with air, and as such won’t work in a vacuum or underwater.

Sirocco wears a tan caftan and trousers for a costume. On his head he wears a head cloth with a veil across his face. With the veil it only leaves his eyes visible. Otherwise Sirocco is a tall gaunt man, with weather-beaten skin. When not in his Sirocco guise, Assim maintains the identity of a mullah or religious lawyer. Assim is quite outspoken in his view of the liberation of Pakistan.
