Background

Standing in a secret underground crypt beside his father's grave, a young man swore to fight crime and wickedness forever! Returning from a sea voyage, he had found his family's home burned to the ground, and learned the story of the massacre from the only survivor, an old family servant. This was four hundred years ago, and this man became the first Red Hawk. This vow was passed on down the years, from father to eldest son. Many believed it to be the same man, and so the legend of immortality grew. Today criminals everywhere have learned to fear the swift punishment of the Red Hawk.

The Red Hawk’s base is on the island of Tiba, a (fictional) island near Papua New Guinea. A former Portuguese colony, it became a self-governing territory of Australia in the late 1970s.

Born in 1990, Jose “Joe” Fernandes is the son of the 23rd Red Hawk and the heir to the family tradition. Jose spent his first years in the jungle on Tiba, but has come to the USA to study. He lives with his aunt and uncle. Joe is an extremely talented sportsman, and has the potential to become a professional player, or even world champion, of several different sports.

Despite this, Joe intends to return to Tiba to take over the role of the Red Hawk when his father dies or retires. While he would not normally be expected to actively adventure until this time, he has adopted the identity of “Tiger” (based on his childhood nickname), in order to practice his skills.
Personality
Joe is an easygoing, friendly young man who feels compelled to continue the family tradition of fighting evil. He will not talk about his connection with the Red Hawk.
